Maths

Other maths activities you could do at home are:

• Number recognition and ordering 

• Practice counting to 10 each day.

• Sing the days of the week song.

• Collect objects to match numbers.

• Collect a specified number of objects.

• Watch this Numberblocks episode ‘Seven’: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b08pgqt4/numberblocks-series-2-seven 

• Look for representations of the number 7 around your house. For example, 7 apples, 7 toys, 7 on the clock etc. You could draw pictures of the things you have found. 

Other areas of learning

Please see the picture below. Read the short story to your child and encourage them to answer the questions below. They do not need to write an answer. They can verbally tell you what the answer is. 

You could also:

• Practice forming letters

• Practice getting yourself dressed and undressed in preparation for PE

• Make some playdough (see the picture below)

• Write a letter to Santa to thank him for your Christmas presents

• Spend time with your grown-ups looking through old photographs; photographs of things that happened before you were born. For example, a wedding, a special birthday etc. After looking at these photographs and talking about how this happened in the ‘past’, please share them with us on Tapestry or email them to your class teacher to support our learning in class.
