Primrose Hill Arts Focus Week
This week has been a great week for all involved. The focus areas in year 3 have been Music - completing a project/challenge set out by English National Opera, Sewing - using running and back stitch to create a collaborative piece and Art - creating scarab beetles using 3D sculpting.
Leeds Art Gallery Visit - 12/10/23
Today, as part of our Owlcotes elements, an appreciation of art, Y3 visited the Leeds Art Gallery. We had a guided tour of the Henry Moore institute and then took part in a workshop looking at paper sculpting.
Poetry slam week - Poet visit 2.10.23
During this week, year 3 have been lucky enough to work with a professional poet. We created our own poems using techniques that poets use. We have also been looking at different styles of poems and how we know what style they are.
Art - Picasso collage
In Art, year 3 have been learning about Pablo Picasso and his style of art. We have been using these skills to practice collaging.
History - 14.9.23
This term, the focus in History will be Ancient Egyptians. Today, the children worked together to discover facts about Ancient Egypt.
P.E. - 8.9.23
This half term, year 3 will be working alongside coaches from the Leeds United Foundation. Their focus will be on their fundamental skills. This week was all about movement.
Writing - The Scarab’s Secret - 6/9/23
This week, Y3 have been reading the story ‘The Scarabs’s Secret’. We have been using this as a stimulus for our writing and practiced orally retelling the story to their partners.
