Timings of the School day

The school day starts at 8.40am (Year 1&2 and Years 5&6) and 8.45am (Reception and Years 3 &4) and finishes at 3.10pm (Year 1&2 and Years 5&6) and 3.15pm (Reception and Years 3 &4).

Playtimes

Children from Y1 to Y6 have a short playtime break which lasts for 10 minutes.
Children in Years 1 and 2 have a short afternoon break at for 10 minutes.

Reception flexible access to outdoor play througout the day. In the final half term of the school year, they will join children in Key Stage 1 to have breaks at set times.

Lunchtime

Children in Reception have their lunch at 11.50am and their break ends at 12.50pm.  For those in Y1 to Year 6 lunch is at 12.00 noon until 1.10pm.
Wake Up Shake Up - which is 10 minutes of physical activity is the first lesson of the afternoon for children in Years 1-6. This takes place everyday (weather permitting) and lasts for 10 minutes.

Drop-off and collection

Primrose Hill is a School Street and is closed to vehicles at the beginning and end of the school day. Parents and children are encouraged to wait safely on the street until their child enters the playground. Children wait in the playground with their teacher and walk into school together.

If normal arrangements have to be altered (eg if another person is collecting your child), please let us know through the school office.  This avoids any confusion or upset.

Getting to school

To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option! Vehicles are not allowed access onto Primrose Hill at the beginning and end of the school day. We have some bike and scooter storage at school for those children who wish to use this as a means of travel.
