Florence Nightingale
Today children in Year 1 enjoyed a workshop by Thackray Medical Museum. This supported their History learning about Florence Nightingale. Children explored and classified artefacts into clean and dirty hospitals, they made a timeline of the key events in Florence's life and they took on the role of porters and nurse. They travelled to Scuatri and helped to clean the hospital and make an injured soldier feel better. I think they would all make excellent doctors and nurses. Finally children looked at a stuffed rat and asked Florence Nightingale some questions about her life and work.
