Here's a little pattern... WC 11-11-19
"Recent research has found that young children’s ability to spot mathematical patterns can predict later mathematical achievement, more than other abilities such as counting. Pattern awareness helps develop children's mathematical understanding and thinking." (Sue Gifford, 2017) In reception we have spent the last few weeks learning how to make and spot patterns in the environment. We have had lots of fun making them on peg boards, with connector cubes, shapes and paint.
