Each year , our Year 5 pupils take part in the Shakespeare in Schools Festival.  This event is part of our Confidence To Perform strand of our Owlcotes Elements.  This year they have rehearsed 'The Tempest ' at an after school club.  They learnt about the plot and characters before auditioning for parts.  Some pupils helped with sound, props and costumes whilst others recited and rehearsed their words.  They worked hard to understand stage directions as well as speaking clearly and audibly whilst trying to engage with the audience.  They had a dress rehearsal at school  before they took part in a final rehearsal with sound and lighting at at the Carriageworks Theatre in Leeds city centre.  Their parents bought tickets to attend their performance along with three other schools.  We are incredibly proud of their efforts and we are sure we have future stars in the making!
