You can also use reading eggs fast phonics Peak 1 to support your child learning these new sounds.

Oral blending - https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/resources/phase/2/pick-a-picture - sound out the words to your child and ask them to blend the sounds together and find the matching picture.

I spy - gather together a group of objects, play I spy with your child, can they find an object that starts with the sound you have given them?

Maths

Other maths activities you could do at home are:

• Number recognition and ordering 

• Practice counting to 10 each day.

• Sing the days of the week song.

• Collect objects to match numbers.

• Collect a specified number of objects.

• Look for representations of the number 1 around your house. For example, 1 door, 1 sofa, 1 clock etc. You could draw pictures of the things you have found. 

Other areas of learning

Please see the picture below, ask your child to talk about the picture and tell a story. There are some suggestions of questions that you can ask. 

You could also practice:

• Recognising and writing your name.

• Mixing paint to paint a self-portrait.

• Getting yourself dressed and undressed in preparation for PE.
