Focus Week
For Focus Week this term we have been looking at sustainability and how we can use recycled materials to create different items of clothing.
In Year 1 we have been focusing on hats. We started the week by evaluating existing hats and thinking about our own design brief. We then designed our hats and worked in groups to create them!
We also had lots of fun modelling our sustainable hats to our friends! We think they are looking great so far!
Maths
We are starting to look at addition and subtraction in maths over the next few weeks. We started by looking at making bonds to 10 in different ways. We used tens frames, Numicon and counters.
PE
We have been looking at using our bodies to make different shapes in PE. We tried to be as straight as possible!
Jeans for Genes
On Friday 23rd September, we wore jeans to school as part of 'Jeans for Genes' day. This is an annual fundraising campaign which aimed at supporting families and individuals affected by genetic disorders.
We used this day to celebrate all of the difference in the world.
Our first 2 weeks
