Focus Week
This week were set the challenge of creating a jacket using recycled materials. As a class we discussed and opted for using crisp packets. Children designed their jackets, carefully labelling them and then discussed how we would actually achieve our goal. The children had very sensible ideas and worked well while trialling a range of methods. After process of elimination we decided to fill the crisp packets with old newspaper - for insulation and then attached them together using weaving and a glue gun. As you can see, the children worked well together to create an excellent sleeveless jacket (gilet).

Leeds United Foundation Positive Choices Workshop
Hannah, from Leeds United Foundation, worked with the children on aspects of life where they might need to make choices and how they should react in a range of situations. The children played games, used video stimulus to identify examples of anti-social behaviour and used role play to act out how a scenario ensuring that a positive choice was made.
