Science - Meanwood Valley Urban Farm Trip

This week, we visited Meanwood Valley Urban Farm as part of our science topic - Rocks and Soils. During the day, we had the chance to learn about all of the different types of rocks and how they are made, created our own fossils and learnt about how soil is made. We even made 2 wormeries to bring back to school!

Writing Project - Reading Shed

During the recent writing project week in school, year 3 were tasked with writing to local businesses, asking (persuading!) for a donation of a shed to create a reading shed in school. Following our letters, FARMAC, a local building suppliers were very happy with our writing and were happy to help. Not only did they supply us with a shed to use, they also came and installed this, along with First 4 Fencing, into our KS2 playground. We are so proud of our year 3 children and the writing they produced and cannot wait to get this space up and running! Thank you so much to FARMAC for their generous donation and their time. The shed looks amazing and fits perfectly into the KS2 playground quiet area.
