The focus week began with a visit from Richard Kay a storyteller. He shared a little about himself before sharing some stories with the children. The first story was a familiar one - Little Red Riding Hood, which required some actors, and the the second was one he made up, that used puppets.

Art - In Art today we worked in collaboration with a child from Miss Rayner's class to create a piece of art. We focused on sketching the scene and will then water colour the piece before bringing them back together.
We teamed up with a Y1 and Y3 child to share the writing we produced during the week.

Writing to create tension and atmosphere linked to the book Return
On Thursday, to end our learning about Earth and Space, children came back to school so that they could take part in a range or astronaut training, star gazing and creating the solar system. The highlight of the evening was the sleep over in tents ; the children enjoyed creating their own pod name.
Writing project - The children wrote Persuasive letters for personal gain. They selected something that they wanted and then wrote a persuasive letter. As you can see they have done an impressive job.
PE - This lesson focused on the children's ability to pass, control and dodge opponents.
First Aid training with Mrs Trever from Mini First Aid. As part of this the children learnt about what to do in a range of scenarios as well as having the opportunity to practice skills learnt. These include: choking, bleeding, CPR and burns.
Internet Safety Day - Children were giving different scenarios about the impact of influences online. They had to vote with their feet whether they were positive or negative influences. The children explained their reasons well as part of this.
PE with Leeds United - in this lesson the focus was to pass effectively and negotiating space
